Manacor is located in western Mallorca . It is the capital of the region and within the jurisdiction . It has 40,000 inhabitants , making it the third largest municipality on the island in terms of population and the second in terms of land area .

Manacor is known worldwide for its pearl industry. In the town there are many shops that sell these little jewels. You can also visit the factories to inspect the manufacturing process of these beads. The first factory was founded in 1902 by the German industrialist Eduard Frederic Hug Heusch . In 1951, the same factory introduced a new pearl ( Majórica ) whose quality was much higher than that of the remainder. Majórica existed since 1890.

In addition to tourism and the pearls , another outstanding industry is the woodworking industry and especially in furniture manufacturing .

Manacor has numerous caves. The Coves del Drach , the Coves del Pirata and the Coves dels Hams are known because of their unique beauty.

On the coast of Manacor , you can find a large number of beaches.
