History and culture of Peguera

The development of tourism began in the late 1950s, and since then residential development has grown around the town. Every year Peguera hosts a large German beer festival, which attracts beer drinkers from all over the island. For eating and drinking, Peguera has a variety of bars, cafés, villas and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. In Santa Ponsa, just a few minutes from Paguera, the Spanish version of the Oktoberfest takes place. There is also a good selection of German restaurants in Peguera. Shopping – The shopping is mainly in Avenida Peguera, which is not directly by the sea (where there are more restaurants and bars), but parallel to the seafront. Here you will find all kinds of clothes and accessories for a day at the beach, but also gift articles and leather goods. There are also supermarkets and grocery shops. Peguera is mid-priced, which attracts visitors from the rest of the region. If you want to shop in designer boutiques, we recommend taking a taxi or making a trip to Port Andratx, which is very close by.
