Jungle History

Jungle appears for the first time in history books in the year 1232, when it was classified as an Arab farm. After being recognized as a town by King Jaume II in 1300, Selva began to create his own story. The inhabitants of Selva have participated in rebellions and have suffered at the hands of bandits.

In more recent years, Selva has become a meeting point for the international community. Its isolated location and size make many of the tour operators and tourists overlook it several times. For those who are looking for a traditional Mallorcan experience, there are few places better than this. The abundance of character and charm of this small town make it worth visiting.
Located in Plaça Major you will find the impressive San Lorenzo church. Its 42 steps will take you to the renovated Gothic style facade. Many parts of the church were renovated after suffering a fire in 1855. To maintain its authenticity, the engineer in charge worked with the original plans dating from the seventeenth century.

The Valella cross is also one of the historical architectural pieces. This baroque cross dates from 1710 and its cultural importance was recognized in 1963. You can still see the eight figures carved around its base. Among the figures you can still see Santa Barbara, San Jorge and a prominent figure in the history of Selva, San Lorenzo.

One of the advantages of staying in the quiet town of Selva is its proximity to Inca, where you can go shopping.

Sa Vinyeta is surrounded by a garden of lawns and trees, the pool has a great relaxation area composed of some DIY-style armchairs where you can lie next to your outdoor dining room and thus prepare barbecues on summer days in the shade of the large parasol . It also has a fantastic jacuzzi covered by a heather roof that gives it a more intimate and romantic touch.

Its outdoor porch with garden furniture is protected by curtains that avoid the sun's rays at dawn or at sunset, letting the breeze pass and making it a place to sit and chat or read a book.

Its beautiful stone-lined house is Mallorcan-style, with high ceilings with exposed beams and details in wrought iron combining natural materials that give it personality.

The dining room is rustic and diaphanous. Arranged with AC, Sat tv and free WiFi. The kitchen with American bar is comfortable and practical.

The bedrooms are 3, forged with single beds each and AC with heat pump in two bedrooms. Very comfortable and quiet rooms to rest.

Our holiday home "Can Tabenet" is ideal for a holiday with family or friends, people who are looking for peace or adventures.the property is situated between Campanet and Selva, in the Serra de Tramuntana, in the northwest of the island.this mountain range was declared a World Heritage Site in 2011. The entire property is fenced with vegetation for maximum privacy. Only 3 km away is the picturesque village of Campanet, where you will find a small supermarket, typical Mallorcan bakeries, bars and restaurants right on the lively market square.
A few kilometres away is Inca, a well known "small town" in the heart of Mallorca, where you will find German supermarkets (Lidl, Aldi, Müller), Spanish supermarkets (Mercadona / Eroski), shops, hospital and much more. Inca is very famous for its leather factory, definitely worth a visit.
The beach of Muro (awarded with the Blue Flag) is only 15 kilometres away from the house.
