The  community of  Muro  is located  at the north of Majorca and is divided in two areas, Muro Village and Muro beach you are about 10 minuts drive from village to the beach. Muro is bordered to the southeast by Santa Margarita Village, in the south of Maria de la Salut village, in the southwest of Llubí village, in the west of Sa Pobla village, in the north of Alcudia and on the northeast by the Mediterranean sea. The Council has an area of 55.4 km² and 7000 residents .

The small hill on which the village of Muro is located, is habited since prehistoric times. This hill made the village as early as the Roman period as a good surveillance point of the sea.

In this district 51 archaeological sites have been documented. From the pre-talayotic culture many caves were obtained which were used in the past as a place of residence. There are also many single standing Talaiots. From the Roman era have been discovered among other coins and graves.

This county has the S’Albufera de Muro, which is now a natural park. A large part of the beach has been preserved in a natural state which is very reach in birds and all kind of ecological and biological activity:

The Village also offers a very nice gastronomy we recomend a few good restaurants, Sa Fonda, Los Arcos and also S’arcada restaurant with tipicals mallorcan plates.If you decide to go for the sweet staff then, we recomend  the lovely bakeries Ca’n Segura and Ca’l Rei that prepares excelents cakes. Also by the square over the weekends is a very busy place to go, everything take place there couse on sunday are the markets that offer a lot of variaty in fruits and vegetables and the locals meet for a nice coffee, at the locals litlles coffees places.

Muro is located at the north of Majorca. The village is devided in two areas: Muro is the main village, and the other, Playa de Muro, is located 10 Km away,  by the beach.

Is a very nice area with one of the best beaches of the island, and natural surroundings with reserves of ecological interest such as the ‘S’Albufera’ Natural Park and the protected area of ‘Sa Comuna de Muro’.

Playa de Muro offers lots of services. You will find a lot of good restaurants to try the special mediterranean food and also a lot of good litlle and nice shops. Playa de Muro is pefect to operate windsurfing and other water sports. It offers also to bicycle enthusiasts the chance to discover routes running close to the sea and surrounding by nature, and others that penetrate the interior of the island.
