Übersicht
Playa de Muro
A top favourite for families, Playa de Muro stretches over six kilometres and features a gentle slope into the sea, so kids can play safely in shallow water.
It’s also packed with beach bars, toilets, showers and places to grab a drink or snack without losing sight of the children. The wooden walkways make it ideal for prams or anyone with reduced mobility. Bike paths also link the beach to Alcúdia — great for a seaside ride.
Sant Joan and Sant Pere Beaches
Located in the Mal Pas area, these two quiet, wind-sheltered beaches are perfect for small children and are usually less crowded than larger beaches.
They’re just a few minutes from Alcúdia’s old town, and while they’re smaller than Playa de Muro, everything is close by — ideal for families. The water is calm and postcard-blue.
You won’t find many beach bars here, but a picnic under the umbrella is a great alternative. There’s a small parking area nearby and easy access, even with a baby in tow.
Bonus: Sant Pere is just next door, if you fancy a change of scene.
Port d’Alcúdia
Want to stay close to town? Port d’Alcúdia beach stretches for several kilometres, so there’s plenty of room. It has it all: shops, bars, ice cream parlours, playgrounds and even bike or scooter rentals.
It gets busier in summer, but if you arrive early and find a good spot, you can spend the whole day there. When the sun sets, plenty of restaurants are just steps away.
Coll Baix
Not for everyone — but if your kids are older and enjoy a mini adventure, this beach is something different. You’ll need to hike around 30–40 minutes through a pine forest trail.
Is it worth it? Many families say yes — the walk becomes part of the fun.
Just note:
- No food service
- No mobile signal
So it’s not suitable for pushchairs or toddlers, but if your crew is more Indiana Jones than beach towel, this one’s for you.
Alcanada Beach
Looking for a quieter spot? Alcanada Beach is peaceful and shallow — great for kids.
It’s only a few minutes from central Alcúdia by car, and one highlight is the small island with a lighthouse just offshore — perfect for swimming or kayaking. There are pine trees nearby for natural shade.
Cala Mesquida
A bit further away (about 40 minutes by car), but well worth it.
Cala Mesquida is a protected natural beach with dunes and stunning surroundings. It’s wide, safe and often monitored by lifeguards in high season.
