It is usually foggy in the morning because the contrast between the temperatures (up to 16 degrees for the day and 8 degrees for the night) on the island of Mallorca favours this meteorological phenomenon. Its charm underlines the fact that it is located in an elevated area and close to the sea, offering breathtaking views. Although it is very close to the sea, the whole area is full of vegetation. Its beaches or coves are made of rocks and in Banyabufar beach you will find springs of fresh water that flow from the mountain directly to the sea. This route starts at the Carretera C-710 and leads to the beach of the Port des canonges, on this way a path leads through pines and rocks to the sea. It is one of the most famous villages on the island, since the composer Frederic Chopin and his lover George Sand spent one winter (1838-1839) in the town of Valldemossa, more precisely in the monastery. The most important places in Valdemossa are The Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa, the church of the Charterhouse and the old pharmacy next to the Charterhouse. Entry to the Charterhouse includes a Chopin concert and a visit to the room where the Chopin composer spent a winter in Mallorca with his girlfriend George Sand.
