Paguera Sehenswürdigkeiten

Paguera offers a wide variety of attractions. The town was named Paguera because of the ovens where the resin was extracted from the pine trees. Paguera is located in the municipality of Calvià and is well known and popular among Germans. Nearby is also the famous tourist village Camp de Mar. Paguera has very good accessibility, as it has direct access to the freeway and is only thirty minutes from the airport.

The best monuments of Paguera

As Paguera is a tourist town, the main attractions are its beaches and coves. It is also worth seeing the boulevard of Paguera, full of stores and restaurants of all kinds.

In our blog we also show you all the places of interest around Paguera.

Playa Palmira

Playa Palmira is the largest of the 3 main beaches of Paguera. It is 7 kilometers from Andratx and is located between Caló de ses Llises and Punta des Carabiners. It can be said that the beach was artificially created, since 2 breakwaters that divided the beach were removed and tons of fine white sand were reintroduced to create the beach.

A palm tree lined road runs through this area dedicated to tourism, which in turn serves as a barrier between vacation rentals, hotels and other offerings.

Access by road is easy if you follow the road signs. Free parking is available on the streets adjacent to the urbanization near the beach. The Paguera Avenue leads to this beach. You can also take public transportation to Palmira beach.  There is a bus stop right on the beach.

Cala des Monjo

Caló d’es Monjo is a beautiful cove of sand, stone and rocks near Peguera in Calvià. This beach is a little less visited by tourists than the other beaches of Paguera. There are some sea caves in the area. One of them is accessible by swimming and is located on the right side when we look at the sea.

There is a parking lot where you can park your car and we recommend you arrive early.  From here you can reach the bay on foot along a simple road after about a kilometer . Nearby there are many hiking trails.

If you want to rent a finca or vacation home in Mallorca, you will find a large selection of fincas and vacation homes on our website.

Torre de Cap Andritxol

Throughout the Majorcan coast there are several defensive towers that were used to observe the possible penetration of pirates and for visual communication between the most strategic points of the island. Some are better preserved than others, perhaps the most famous is the tower of Cap Andritxol, one of the few that can be additionally visited inside.

The peculiarity of the tower of Cap Andritxol is that next to it we find the so-called “Barraques dels Torrers”, used by the guards in times of lesser threat from the Turks and Berbers.  They date back to the 17th century. We strongly recommend a visit!

The promenade

The stores are almost exclusively located on Avenida Peguera, which is not on the beach promenade, where there are more restaurants and bars, but parallel to it. Here you will find all kinds of clothing and accessories, as well as gift and leather goods stores. In addition, there are supermarkets and pharmacies. On the beach promenade you will find all kinds of restaurants, bars and beach clubs.

Cala Fornells

The bay is surrounded by hotels, restaurants and vacation villas, and some green pine forest areas are preserved near the beaches, providing natural shade. The natural environment is reflected in the calm and crystal clear waters of the area. Good beach for diving and for children to enjoy the sea and the beach. If they wear diving goggles, they will enjoy the company of schools of fish.
